Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!! Hope everyone has/had a fun and festive Halloween. I was out of town this weekend so I missed all the costume parties and didn't dress up. It was the first time in a long time that I didn't make a costume, but I still got to make a homemade costume for my friend's little boy. Let me introduce you to the cutest, hunkiest, and most realistic BABY ELVIS!! The back of the costume
Front of the costume

Little flirt!
He ain't nothin' but a hound dog!

He was playing the part well.
Elvis and his pretty mama!

Isn't he the cutest?
LOVE HIM!Check out his shades and sideburns!
The idea of this costume came about because of the hair this boy has....PERFECT ELVIS HAIR!

Cupcake Decorating!

Tonight at our cupcake decorating class, my mom and I chose a Fall/Halloween theme. We made Snickerdoodle cupcakes from scratch with Cinnamon Butter cream icing. They were YUMMY! You can find the recipe here. My mom decorated hers like candy corn
On this one we tested out the spray can icing coloring. You just spray the coloring onto white icing and it adds a neat pop of color.
Here is my version of an acorn. You can't really tell it's an acorn, but it was my best attempt.
This is my pumpkin cupcake attempt. I used a pretzel for the stem and a gumdrop chewy candy for the leaf.

The ghost cupcakes I made. I know ghosts don't have noses, but the bottom dot is supposed to be a circular "O" mouth.

I know they aren't the most amazing cupcakes you've ever seen, but it was really fun trying....and they tasted good so that was a plus!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

#1. I love that I finally made myself get up early on my day off to go garage selling. I took a long break from going because I realized I had WAY TOO MUCH stuff accumulated in the garage. I'm glad I went this week because I found some fun treasures!

I thought this dainty gold and diamond bracelet was cute. I asked the lady how much it was and she threw it in my bag and said, "it's free, just take it!" I love it when people say that!
I got this picture frame for $1. My plan is to put a mirror on the bottom and use it as a tray on a coffee table or maybe a tray to hold perfume and trinkets on my dresser. I might spray paint it too, but I think I like the way it is now.
I got two of these antique frames for $0.50 a piece. They will be used for my frame gallery some day :) And yes, I will probably spray paint them.
I love these tea light lanterns. The lady who sold them at her garage sale bought them in Mexico and she hung them above her bathtub. I bought five of them for $5. Each lantern has a chain that is a different length. Not sure where I'll hang them yet, but I couldn't resist buying them.

#2. I love that I added two new teacups/saucers to my collection.
I bought this one at Marshall's when we were shopping in Fort Worth, TX. Isn't the pattern fun?

I got this set at Anthropologie....it was on sale for $7.99. I LOVE the design!!

#3. I love that my onesie business has been good....good, but exhausting! Here are a few of the newest designs:

#4. I love that fall is here. I love everything about fall....it is my favorite time of the year! I love that we had a pumpkin carving night with some of my friends......and I love even more that Aaron got to be a part of it and hosted it at his new house! It's been so fun having him close!

Me and the boyfriend! I told him I would carve the Browning symbol so he could leave it on his front porch, but I realized I wasn't that talented of a pumpkin carver so instead we did "RNT". For those of you that aren't avid hunters, the Browning symbol is the deer you see on the back of every one's trucks and RNT is a brand of duck calls. Aaron was pretty proud of his pumpkin!Rachel and Dylan carved a scary, mean faced pumpkin. Dylan obviously wanted to look mean in the picture too, hah! Alli and Ryan carved their upcoming wedding date on their pumpkin....CUTE!

#5. I love that my mom and I have been taking a 5 week long cupcake decorating class at our church. It has been a lot of fun! So far we've learned how to make vanilla cupcakes with an orange glaze (these did not turn out at all because my group forgot to add sugar to the recipe so they tasted like disgusting biscuits. How do you forget sugar?? It was just my luck with cooking), lemon jello cupcakes with butter cream frosting, and pumpkin cupcakes, some with pumpkin filling, salty Carmel filling, and pudding filling. The lemon and pumpkin cupcakes were sooo much better than the vanilla. We are slowly learning how to decorate them with all the different icing tips and techniques, but it is not as easy as it looks.

Here's a picture of our lemon cupcakes. Tonight in our class we are going to be decorating cupcakes in a holiday theme. Not sure yet which holiday we will choose, but I'll make sure and take pics to share with you.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm linking up with Jamie on What I'm Loving Wednesday!

1. Loving that I got to hang out with Aaron yesterday at his new humble abode. It's a sweet one bedroom, one bathroom log cabin. It's old, but it has been very well kept up and I think it suits him perfectly! I can already tell it's going to be SO FUN having him close!

2. I'm loving the new perfume that Aaron got me for our 5 year anniversary. It's Vince Camuto and it smells amazing!!! Thank you, Aaron!

3. I'm loving how awesome my cousin Stephanie is! She reads my blog and saw that I was wishing for a La Mer wrap watch and guess what? She went above and beyond and bought me one as a "thank you" for babysitting her kids while she goes to Hawaii. Turns out the Hawaii trip has been scheduled for a different date and I might not have to watch the kids, but she gave me the gift anyway. Now, I owe her a HUGE favor and will pretty much say yes to whatever she asks of me. Thanks Steph, you really should not have done that.....but I LOVE the watch!! Here's a pic.
4. I'm loving Yoplait Yogurt Smoothies. I bought a few bags in the frozen section at Wal-Mart and I've been drinking them for breakfast. They taste really good and they have the recommended daily amount of fruit. You just pour it in the blender, add skim milk, and voila...instant breakfast! There's two servings in each bag and 110 calories per bag...not too bad if you ask me!

5. Last, but not least, I'm loving that OU vs. Texas football game is this weekend. I'll be stuck here in Norman working, but you better believe when I get off I'll be watching the game somewhere with Aaron and our friends. BOOMER SOONER!!

Way-Back-Wednesday, Katie Style!

I would like to wish my friend, Katie, a very happy 24th birthday today! In honor of her birthday, I'm dedicating my Way-Back-Wednesday post to her. I'm sure she will be thrilled about all the pictures I'm about to share on the Internet. I've been meaning to do a post like this for a while now because I have a ton of crazy pictures with Katie. I probably have more ridiculous pictures with her than any other friend. I met Katie during my Junior year of high school. She went to school at Moore and I went to North, but we attended the same Cosmetology school. I remember walking in to class on my first day and I didn't know anyone because there was only me and one other girl from North. I sat by myself on the far side of the room and kept quiet like the shy girl that I am (when it comes to being in school and class). Not long after that this little girl named Katie came up to me and asked if she could sit with me. Of course, I gladly accepted and we introduced ourselves and pretty much were inseparable the remaining two years of Cosmetology school. It's so funny to look back at all these pictures and see how much we have (mainly Katie) changed. Apparently Cosmetology school wasn't all business because a lot of these pictures were taken during class while we were doing our hair and make-up and goofing off. Katie and I are currently working together at the same salon and she works at the station right next to me. I LOVE having her there. We reminisce about the good ole days and how much we miss Cosmetology school and all our wonderful friends we made there. Occasionally, we will all have "Cosmo Girls" reunions (cosmetology girls nights), although we don't have them often enough if you ask me. Katie has and always will be a very special friend to me. We always get along great and have tons of fun when we're together and I cherish her friendship greatly! Hope you enjoy the pictures, Katie! Wishing you a happy happy birthday...can't wait to celebrate tonight!
Wannabe Charlie's AngelsI'd like to point out the outfit that Katie has on in this pic. She wouldn't be caught dead wearing that now....and she tells me that I'm the one who wears grandma clothes. Oh how times have changed! My surprise 18th birthday party! We look so young.Rockstar hair!Cosmetology graduationFoilheadI think this was our last day of Cosmetology school, tear ;(State Facial Contest...Katie was my beautiful model!Senior prom. Don't you just love my choice of hairstyle and Katie's choice of eye make-up....cracks me up!Looks like someone was practicing their State Board roller set on my hair! This picture always makes me die laughing. Why so serious, Katie and Dijana? America's Next Top Model pose.Love Katie's face! One of my favs!Hanging out in the facial room. We were supposed to be practicing for the state competition, but clearly we were just goofing off and taking stupid pics. Story of our lives.Cute hair! Not sure what shirt and earrings I'm wearing in this one.Now that looks more like us
