New Onesies!

I have been a onesie making fool lately......and that's A-OKAY! I'm so thankful for everyone who has supported my little business and ordered outfits. I'm especially thankful for all the returning customers who have made multiple orders. Sometimes it gets a little stressful because I feel like I'm spending all my days off making onesies and running around to craft stores to buy supplies, but I really do enjoy doing it. After all, I'm not one to really sit down and relax in my free time. It's been a huge blessing to have the extra money lately. It's been super slow at the salon due to the economy and the heat and I'm really grateful that I've gotten a lot of orders recently. I've been thinking a lot lately about starting an Etsy shop. For those of you who don't know, Etsy is a website where sellers can display their items and customers can shop all in one spot. Most of the sites are selling homemade items. You do have to pay a small fee of $0.20 per item you place on your site and then you pay a 3.5% tax on each item sold. I think it would be a good way to expand my business outside of the area and sell to people that I don't know personally. The only thing holding me back is the time factor. I'm not so sure I'll have enough time to pick up any more orders. This is where I need your help and advice. Do you think I should start an Etsy shop, or should I continue to just do business through Facebook? I would also make cake stands and other various homemade crafts on my site. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment and let me know what you think. I really need a second opinion! Again, thank you to everyone who has ordered from me....I'm extremely grateful for you! Goodies from Canton!

We had a wonderful getaway to Canton, TX. We stayed on a very small, quaint moutain right next to the trade days shops. It seemed like we were almost the only people on the mountain. There were a lot of little shops and bed and bath houses in the small mountain top community. The B&B we stayed at was very cute....the decor inside and out was beautiful. I didn't have my camera so I didn't get any pics of it, but my mom did on her camera so I'll try and post some of those soon. It was extremely HOT and sticky, but we still managed to shop 'til we dropped. We only saw about 1/3 of the stores. I could have spent an entire week there. I will be going back soon! Here are my purchases:Sugar free Green Tea Pomegranate, sugar free Strawberry Banana Tea, and sugar free Chai Tea Pomegranate. These tasted amazing and I couldn't resist buying a few. YUM!Loved this vintage bird cage.Styrofoam balls wrapped in twine. I know I could have easily made these myself, but for $1 a ball, it was cheaper just to buy them. I have a cute wire basket that i'm going to put them in.Mini white glass vases. Thought these would be cute with little flowers in them.I'm starting a collection of frames for a gallery wall that I will put in my house someday. Of course I will not keep the picture that's in it the same.Loved all the beautiful detail on this frame.Couldn't resist buying this candle holder chandelier. Not sure where i'll put it, but it was cute and very reasonably priced.I didn't buy these frames in Canton. My mom and I found them at a garage sale a couple weekends ago. They will be spray painted and added to my gallery wall collection.I'm in love with this frame! My mom and I also found a sweet bargain on this crown molding. There were three huge strips of it. He was selling them for $6 a piece. He originally bought them at Lowe's for $18 a piece. However, he gave all three of them to us for $6! It was quite comical watching us fit them into my mom's car. My mom plans on painting them and mounting them around the mirrors in her bathroom.

First Monday Trade Days!

I'm headed to Canton's First Monday Trade Days for the weekend with my momma and two of our good friends. It's our annual girls shopping weekend trip. This year instead of doing a traditional mall shopping experience, we've decided to go to the Canton trade show. Although it might look like junk to some, it looks like Heaven to me. I've heard it's amazing and there's tons to look at and it's very reasonably priced. Not sure how long we'll last outside in the heat, but hopefully we'll come home with a car full of treasures. I'd like to rent a U-Haul and bring it home full of stuff :) For those of you who haven't heard of the First Monday Trade Days, it's basically a huge plot of land that different vendors set up shop at and they sale all kinds of things at low prices. It's a HUGE area (see last picture for view from above). Can't wait to show you what I buy when I get back! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend full of fun!

Lake trip to Tahlequah, so much fun!

I have done a wonderful job at abandoning my way-back-Wednesday posts. After looking through old pictures from college and reminiscing on all the wonderful times we had, I decided this post would be fitting. I cannot explain to you how much I miss my college friends. I think about them all the time! Since I graduated and left Arkansas, I've been back to visit 3 times. I remember when I moved, I promised them that I'd come back once a month. Oops..I totally failed. Even though it's only a 3 hour drive, it's really hard for me to find the time to make the trip since I don't have the weekends off. I promise girls that I'm going to come visit soon. A few of the girls have made the trip or two to see me since I've moved. Even three of the girls drove 3 hours just to come get their hair done by me and then they turned around and drove right back home. I was so excited they came all that way. It always makes my week when people come visit!! I have so many fun memories of college and the relationships that I built while in Arkansas. I cherish each and every one of those friendships so much. I know that we may not talk very often and we may not see each other very much, but I always know that no matter how far apart we are, we will always reunite and pick right back up where we left off the next time we see each other. Just FYI girls, next summer we are due for a super fun girls weekend getaway to somewhere awesome. All of you in these pictures are included and you better be there!

I absolutely love this quote. It's from one of my favorite books, "Cold Tangerines." I immediately highlighted it when I first read it because it is SO true. Building lasting friendships and relationships is so important to me!
