What I'm Loving Wednesday!

#1- That this guy called me this week to share some exciting news. He will be home this weekend for Labor Day and it just so happens that I have Sunday off so I will be headed to see him Saturday night and all day Sunday. Makes me SO happy. It will be just over two weeks since I saw him last and it's actually been a lot easier than I thought. Our plan was to go a little over a month before we were able to visit each other. Can't wait to see him!

#2- I've made some progress in the wedding planning department. So far we've booked the church, made a tentative guest list, contacted a few different vendors, scheduled an appointment to look at a reception venue, scheduled appointments to try on dresses, and TODAY I'm meeting with a photographer to discuss "our vision". I'm so excited about meeting her and talking photography. We will be getting married on June 29, 2013!

#3- I'm excited the month of August is just days from being over. Free kids cuts at work has worn me slick and I'm excited to have some organized structure to my work days. I will miss all the darling wee ones, but I'm ready to get my regular clients back and spend some quality time with them.

#4- I love that since starting the Advocare 24 day challenge and finishing it, I have lost a total of 5.2 pounds. I only lost about 1-2 pounds while on the challenge, but I've discovered that doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred workout video on a regular basis is providing results!!!

#5- I'm loving the stationary I scored from Michael's for $1.00. You better believe I saw it and immediately thought of Aaron. He will be gaining a new pen pal while he's away and I'll be writing sweet little nothings on these note cards. Cheesy much? Yes, but do you expect anything less of me?

#6- I'm loving this sweet little girl and her family for letting me take their pictures. Isn't she cute?

#7. I'm loving these two for the example they have set for me on how to truly love someone. Thankful for all they have taught me and everything they do for me. I am blessed.

That's all for this week. Hope you guys have a wonderful Wednesday!

I Have Been Waiting a Very Long Time to Say This.....

....I AM ENGAGED!!!!

The day before the proposal. The U-Haul is loaded and ready to go!

On Wednesday, August 15, Aaron proposed to me! I was completely surprised and caught off guard. I had absolutely no clue it was coming. Props to Aaron because it had to have been pretty hard to do.

We were in Arkansas moving Aaron into his new rental house. His entire family was there, but his mom and dad had just left to get a few things at Wal-Mart. Aaron and his brothers were resting in the living room since they had just unloaded all the furniture. I decided to make myself useful and unload Aaron's t-shirts, fold them, and put them away. As I was sitting on the floor, folding shirts, Aaron walked in the room and asked, "So when are you going to move up here with me?" Let me just say, this was not the first time I've heard this question before. Usually, my response is always the same...."not until we're married" and then Aaron's response to that is "well then let's get married today." Therefore, this conversation wasn't out of the ordinary and I didn't think anything of it. My response to his question was "I've told you this before, not until we're married and in order for us to get married you have to ask a certain question first." I looked up at Aaron and he had a big grin on his face and he said...."Well....." He then proceeded to walk towards me and get on one knee. This entire time I'm thinking this is all a joke because we've joked around about it many times before, but he's never gotten down on one knee. I kept telling him to quit joking around because it wasn't funny anymore. Then, he reached for my hand and asked, "Will you marry me?" I'm still not buying it yet, but starting to wonder if he's really serious. Then I see him reach in his back pocket and I start to freak out (in my head I'm still wondering if he's going to pull out an imaginary box). He pulls out a white ring box and inside is the most beautiful ring! I'm pretty sure my face was classic as I was in complete shock. I threw the shirt that I was folding, jumped up, started screaming and said "YES". After hugging/kissing/freaking out, Aaron asked if I was ever going to put the ring on. I was so excited and nervous that I couldn't stop shaking so Aaron helped me put it on.

The box was fancy and had a light in it that made the ring extra sparkly! Didn't he do a good job? I LOVE IT! He was so worried that I wouldn't like it or that it wouldn't fit.
The ring! Please ignore my old lady hands.

It's funny how you dream about how you're going to get proposed to for so long and then when it happens you realize it doesn't matter how it happens, when it happens, where it happens...it will be the perfect moment and you will be on cloud nine. I never dreamt that's how I would get proposed to, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Aaron's rental house and that bedroom will forever hold a special place in my heart. Folding Aaron's t-shirts will also have a sweet significance. He was a smart man to do that, you know? Now, when I'm folding his laundry, I will always smile and remember that moment.

Aaron's family and my parents both knew about the proposal before it happened, but none of them knew exactly when or how he was going to do it. He didn't really even know how he was going to do it either. He wanted to take me on a walk by the river, but he knew I would probably suspect something if he did that. His mom was hiding the ring in her bag the entire trip up there.

After proposing, I asked Aaron if he got my dad's blessing. Apparently the day before, while I had gone to McDonald's to get the guys breakfast while loading the U-Haul, Aaron got my dad's permission and told him his plan. I figured I'd be able to sense my parents or Aaron acting strange/weird, but they were all completely normal and calm. Aaron didn't even seem nervous at all the entire 6 hour drive up there.

I am so excited to marry Aaron and spend the rest of my life with him. I can't wait to start all the fun wedding festivities. We are currently talking about having the wedding at the end of June. I will stay here in Oklahoma until we're married and then move to Arkansas after the wedding. I sure hope this 10 months flies by because Aaron has only been gone 3 days and I already miss him so much! I was so proud of myself because I didn't even cry when I left on Thursday. I have Aaron's family to thank for that. All five of us rode back home in his brother's truck so they helped to keep my mind off of it.

Aaron and his family on his front porch right before we left him there. I'm so blessed to be marrying into such a wonderful, Godly family. I couldn't think of better future in-laws :)

Lastly, I want to say a BIG OLE thank you to all of our family and friends who have called, text, and sent messages of congratulations. We are so thankful for your overwhelming love and support throughout our relationship. We can't wait to celebrate with you at the wedding and show our appreciation! Love you guys!

I'm So Excited!!

This weekend was great!
-Spent Friday night just relaxing/having girl time with some great girlfriends.
-Aaron came into town Saturday night. We relaxed and watched the Olympics.
-Sunday Aaron and I spent the day on Lake Arcadia with my cousin and her family. It was a lot of fun. We skied, tubed, and swam. It was the perfect lake weather! Thanks for having us, Steph & Colby.
-Sunday afternoon Aaron and I went through all my furniture in the garage and made a list of everything Aaron will be taking with him when he moves. We also measured each big piece of furniture so he knows what kind of space he will be needing.
-Sunday evening my brother and his wife came over and we had a lovely family dinner.

All in all, it was a great, relaxing weekend. I was in desperate need of one after all the mass chaos at work. The free kids haircuts during the month of August is wearing me slick. I am exhausted every day and my feet kill me. I have enjoyed hanging out with the kids though. I wish I would have brought a book to write down every funny thing those kids say. Some of them are HILARIOUS! Keeps us entertained and on our toes.

Tomorrow night after work I will be heading to Aaron's house. We are leaving early Wednesday morning to go house hunting in Arkansas!!! Excited is an understatement. I can't wait to see the town and find a place for Aaron to live. He plans to find a place this week and move next Wed & Thurs. AHHHHHHHH!!! It's finally happening. So happy and sad at the same time! Praying/keeping our fingers crossed for cool weather next week.

I'm sure I will take plenty of pictures while in Arkansas and I'll post an update with pictures of the house we hopefully find. EEKKK!!!

It's Been a While...

.....since my last blog post. About three weeks to be exact. Sorry for the absence, but I haven't had a lot of super cool things to blog about lately so I took a short break. I still don't have a whole lot to share, but here's a little post to fill you in on what I've been up to.

1. Still waiting patiently for Aaron's federal background check to come back. Once it is completed we will make a trip to AR to find a rent house for him. I'm so anxious to go see the town and look at houses. I'm trying really hard to practice patience.....after all I keep reminding myself that the sooner it clears, the sooner he moves 7 hours away. Instead, I'll enjoy every last moment I get to spend with him here in OK.

2. I started the Advocare 24 Day Challenge about a week ago. I'm on day 9 and sticking to it almost exactly. Not sure if I've lost any weight or inches, but I feel so much better. My energy level is higher and I've been working out 4-5 times a week. I'll post results after the 24 days and maybe if I'm brave, I'll post a before and after picture (not likely though). This challenge has taken up a lot of my time because I have to grocery shop, plan and cook weekly meals, and find time to squeeze in 6 meals a day (that's a hard task for a hairstylist because we rarely ever have time during work to sit down and eat slowly).

3. Business has picked up again in the onesie making department. There for a while the orders slowed down and it was nice to have some free time on my days off. I'm glad they've picked back up. There must be something in the water because I know SO many people right now who are expecting and I'm so excited to make sweet little outfits for their little ones.
I made this onesie for my sweet friend and college roommate, Caitlin. She is a Delta Gamma girl so I thought it was fitting to send her an "anchor" care package for her and baby C. Can't wait to meet the nugget!

Aaron's good friend and his wife just had their little girl last week. We are so excited for them and she is absolutely precious. This was one of the onesies I made for their little girl, Aly. Congrats Clancey and Traci, can't wait to meet her!

4. I'm still garage selling like a mad woman every Thursday morning. I'm so addicted and hooked. I have got to STOP. Here are some of my latest finds:
 wrought iron vanity- $35
I found this at a marketplace in OKC called Funky Trunk. If you haven't been there before, check it out. They have tons of cute booths!
Toy box full of toys- $10
I will be painting this and using it for a certain something/someone. Look for a post about it in the future :)

This was my favorite purchase. I'm in love with this end table and it will remain exactly AS IS. I got the table, floor lamp, and storage bins all for $26.
I'll be painting or recovering the lamp shade.
These bins will be used for organization purposes in a closet/craft area.
This box was $3. The painting is rather odd, but I loved the shape of it and I saw potential in it. Not sure yet what I'll do with it, but it hangs on the wall and I'm sure I'll put it to good use.
The inside of the box.

That's all I've got for now, friends. Hope you guys have a great week. Hopefully it won't be another month before I post again!
