Recent Happenings.....

1. I will be leaving for Jamaica in 3 days!!! AHHHH, so excited I can't wait!! I've been trying to layout as much as possible so I don't turn into a lobster on the beach. I'm still extremely pasty white so I'm planning on bathing in sunscreen every morning before going to the beach.

2. My brother and his fiance got a new dog yesterday. She is so sweet and very pretty. Her name is Sadie and she's part Border Collie, part Australian Shepard I think. They got her at Second Chance. She's about 6 months old, but she's a very well behaved dog. Samson and Harris love her. They've been playing and running around all day long. I took a video of them playing, but my blogger account won't let me upload it...maybe later! I caught Sadie chewing on my running shoes earlier and I yelled at her to tell her no and she just put her nose inside the shoe and rested her head there. I tried to capture that on my camera, but by the time I got it out she moved to this position.

3. Last Tuesday we had a pretty crazy storm hit. We weren't given much warning at all and it hit with a vengeance. Lots of hail, hard rain, and heavy wind. A lot of houses had roof damage and fences down and power outages. It snapped trees in half and even completely uprooted a few. There were tons of leaves, bushes, and tree limbs scattered everywhere. We're supposed to get another storm tonight...crossing my fingers that it's just a nice rolling thunderstorm and nothing severe. Here's a video that I saw on facebook of someone who lives in North Norman. It doesn't look to bad at first, but wait until about 2:30 into it and it gets pretty scary. Luckily I was at work when it hit, but I could hear it outside and I thought our building was going to blow down...it was creaking really loudly. We didn't have any damage at the house and neither did my parents, thank goodness!

Other than that, there's not much else going on. I'll be sure to update you with lots of pictures when I get back from my vacay to Jamaica :)

Welcome Home, Chris!

Meet my cousin Chris (on the left). Chris is a pilot in the Navy and for the past seven months he's been overseas aboard the USS Carl Vinson. On Thursday, we were able to celebrate his homecoming! Pictured with Chris is his sister, Blondell.
Now, meet Marcy. Marcy is Chris' beautiful wife and they are expecting their first baby and it's going to be a girl! It was quite a close call on whether or not Chris was going to make it home for the birth of their little girl, but God's timing was perfect and baby Isabel held out for her daddy to get home first. Marcy will be induced this Tuesday if Isabel doesn't make her appearance before then. I'm sooo excited to meet her!

Chris was only expecting his parents, wife, and sister to be at the airport, but instead he was greeted by over 30 friends and family. It was really special to be a part of! Along with family and friends, there was also cameramen from the local news channels there to video the homecoming. Here's Marcy interviewing with the news while everyone held up signs behind her.

Chris' dad, Pete arrived in a wheelchair.....I guess grandpa decided he didn't need to be pushed in a wheelchair so he pushed his son instead.
Blondell's sign that she made.

Some of the group
I thought this picture was hilarious because of the sheer excitement Chris' uncles had on their faces...if you couldn't tell by the blatenly obvious picture, that was sarcasm.
Her sign reads, "I love you Chris you are my favarate uncle." Too cute. Love how she spelt favorite.
aww....

Here he comes......

So sweet. Checking out Marcy's belly and saying hello to Isabel. Love this picture.....I think it's neat that the American Flag made it into the picture as well.

So glad to have you back home, Chris! You truly are a hero and I'm so proud of you for serving our country so well. Can't wait to meet Isabel!

For those of you interested, here's the news video of Chris' arrival.

The Anticipation Is....JAMAICAN ME CRAZZZYYY!!

The countdown for my vacation to Jamaica officially begins NOW!
I will be leaving in 21 days!!! ----eeeeeeekkkkk!! so excited!

I'm headed to Jamaica with some of my family for my cousin's wedding. I've never been there before and I'm so excited. I'm taking the wedding pictures for the wedding so please pray that weather/sunlight/beach conditions are all in line for some perfect photography. Don't worry, I'll be getting plenty of practice in on the days leading up to the wedding. Can't wait to show you guys pictures when I get back. For now, feast your eyes on the beautiful scenery in Jamaica. These pics are from the resort we'll be staying at. It's all inclusive so hopefully I'll have some time for snorkeling, glass bottom boat cruise, trip to Margaritaville, etc.

oh, paradise....I can't wait to meet you :)
