Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

I celebrated Halloween a little early this year because I have to close at work tonight:(
I got together with some friends from work and we had a pumpkin carving party. It was a ton of fun and we took way too many crazy pictures to prove it.
Our pumpkin carving competition turned into a dance competition between my co-worker's 12 year old daughter (yes, she's extremely tall for a 12 year old)  and my co-worker, Candace. Not quite sure who won, but it was hysterical.
We then proceeded to play hair salon in Patrice's in home, make shift salon....and of course we had to have a photo shoot of it too. Then we had another dance off competition with the Wii game, Just Dance.
I tried my best to recreate the little ghost cookies that I saw on Pinterest. Mine definitely didn't look as great, but they were sooo yummy. They were super easy to make. Just dip Nutter Butter's in white chocolate and add chocolate chip cookies as the eyes. You could do this for Christmas too and make little snowmen :)

The girls at work are dressing up today for Halloween. Since I didn't get around to making a costume this year, I'm going to recycle my mom's costume that she made a few years back.
I'm going as Jesse from Toy Story. Pictures to come.

Hope you have a Spooktacular Halloween (haha, yes I just said it) and stay safe!

Before & After- Toy Box

I've been excited about sharing this project with you all and today I finally can since my friend's baby shower was today. I found a toy box at a garage sale in my neighborhood for $10 and I immediately knew I had to have it for my friend, Rachel's baby shower. Not only did I get the toy box, but it was stuffed full of toys. It took me a while to sort through the toys, clean it out, and start painting, but I was able to donate the toys so it was a win-win situation. I love the way it turned out!

BEFORE:

AFTER:

 the front
the sides
 the back
the top
the inside.

I spray painted the black with chalkboard paint and then painted the trim and inside white. Then I wrote around the outside with chalk. Super easy fix! Hopefully Nevaeh will enjoy her toy box for years to come. I'm sure she'll make plenty of messes with the chalk.

Saw It, Pinned It, Did It Link-Up!

I'm linking up with Katie and Steph for the Saw It, Pinned It, Did It Link-Up!

I knew from the beginning that I wanted to find a fun/cute way to ask my girlfriends to be bridesmaids in our wedding. I didn't just want to call them and ask, I wanted to get them a small gift and ask them in person. I saw this picture of a really cute way to ask and I knew I had to do it. I bet you can't guess where I found the picture? No way, it couldn't possibly be Pinterest could it? Imagine that. Yes, I confess, I am a Pinterest addict and I like to recreate other people's brilliant ideas. Someday I hope I'm as genius as others and can come up with something spectacular for Pinterest.....but right now I'm enjoying the inspiration from others. Thank you, Pinterest.

Here is my Pinspiration:

And here is my version:
I used the wooden door knob hangers from Michaels and I spray painted them with chalkboard paint. I tried to write on them with chalk so the girls could erase it and reuse them if they wanted, but it was super hard to write that little with chalk and make it look half way decent. Instead, I wrote on it with a white paint pen and if they decide to reuse it they can write on the other side. Not sure why they would need a chalkboard door hanger, but you never know.

We've been engaged over two months now, but I just now gave my last gift to one of the bridesmaids that lives in Nashville. It was super hard not to ask her over the phone and she FINALLY came into town!

I also saw this on Pinterest the other day and couldn't resist pinning it because it looked all too familiar. It made me crack up laughing.

Here is the Pinterest version:

And here is my dog, Samson's version:

Isn't that great? Soooooooo cute!

Thank you Katie and Steph for hosting this link-up. My goal is to participate every week so I can be held accountable for making, cooking, and using things pinned to my Pinterest. Most of mine will probably be wedding things so sorry if it gets old to you guys! I'll try to mix it up.

Have a great rest of the week!
Love,
Quincee

Psalm 127:3

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3

If you don't know me, there's one thing you'll learn from this post. I HAVE A BIG FAMILY......and both sides of my family are packed full of children. Precious children. See for yourself:

There are 17 of them total and ALL 17 of them have been invited to be a part of our wedding. It was way too hard to pick a flower girl and a ring bearer out of all 17 of them because I love them all equally and I wanted to make sure each one felt included. Therefore, we won't be having a flower girl or a ring bearer, but instead, an angel bell choir. Call me crazy, but I think it will be the sweetest, most precious, entertaining (hopefully not chaotic) thing ever! I am so excited about it. They will walk down the aisle ringing real bells before I come out. Obviously, we will take the bells away from them and they will sit with their parents during the wedding and then be the last of the wedding party to exit the church. I made it a point to tell our videographer to get this on tape because I won't be able to see all their cuteness in action, but I can't wait to see it in our video.

For the most part, I think most of the kiddos are excited about being in the wedding. They range in age from 9ish to 2 (the youngest will turn 2 the month of the wedding). The older boys might not be as excited to be in it as the others....they might be a little too "old" or "cool" to be in the kiddie choir, but hopefully they will enjoy it in the end :)

I wanted to send the kids a little something in the mail, asking them to be in the wedding. I always get excited about getting mail so I thought it would be more fun for them than just a phone call. Here's what my mom and I came up with to ask them:

I can't take credit for the poem. My mom and I thought long and hard, trying to come up with a cute poem, but we had no luck. We thought, "surely we can google it". My mom looked it up and e-mailed the poem to me one day and I absolutely loved it. Obviously, we changed the wording a bit because this poem was made for asking a flower girl.

It was so fun getting all the responses. I got adorable voice messages from some of the kids, hand written letters in the mail, Facebook messages, e-mails, texts, etc. It made me so happy to hear that they were excited about it.
One of my cousins said her son needed to practice his penmanship so he wrote me a letter and practiced his handwriting and envelope addressing skills. It reads, "Dear Quincee, thank you for inviting us to your wedding. Yes, I want to be in the choir. Parker & Zach"
I'm glad our idea could double as a homework assignment!!!

Love having so many precious children in the family and I'm so excited for them to have a part in our wedding. I know I was always excited when I got asked to be in my older cousin's weddings.

What I'm Loving Monday....

#1. For starters, I'm loving that I have today off. My work schedule has changed and I'll now be working Wednesday's instead of Monday's.

#2. I love that Allie E. is becoming Crafty Cathy.....who would have thought? When we were roommates in college we used to have craft nights so she could practice her skills. I was so impressed with this engagement gift she did and I absolutely LOVE it! Thank you, Allison!

"May your love grow stronger, happier, and more wonderful with each passing year, like a seed."
"May everyday of your engagement be a beautiful page of the story you will write through the years." -she even included our wedding color: mint green
"When life gets tough remember to 'roll' with the punches."
"Remember to always give hugs and kisses to one another every day, even if it's been a stressful one."
"You all 'chews' each other for life."
"To celebrate your very special day."
"Because you were 'mint' to be together." -again incorporating the mint
"A little sugar to give you 'bursts' of energy to finish planning the big day."
''To remind you that every day can start with a clean slate."
"To remind you to be flexible in your planning...even if it's Aaron wanting camo at the wedding." -she knows us all too well.
"May the two of you be more in love with each passing day... & count down the days until 6-29-13."

#3. I love Dove's Dry Shampoo. It's very unusual that I will recommend a hair product that is not in a professional line, but I love this stuff. It smells good, works good, gives extra body, and keeps the grease and oil hidden......it also doesn't leave white residue in dark hair (according to a friend I work with). The best part about it....it's only $4 and some change. Go get some. I can go 3 days without washing my baby fine hair with this stuff.
#4. I love my new jewelry organizer. A local craft market place was having a tent sale and the booth owners were getting rid of their display pieces. One lady was selling this thing for $3. I knew it had great potential to be the best jewelry stand ever and it is! Makes it so much easier to find what I'm looking for in the mornings.
There's even a spot for my necklaces to hang. I just attached them from the top with paper clips.
I organized my rings by silver or gold.
 I color coordinated my earrings.

And color coordinated my bracelets/bangles.

#5. I love getting free stuff in the mail....especially stuff from Tiny Prints aka Treat. I got an email from them about their 10 free note cards. Periodically, they will have this promotion and I always take advantage of it. You can never have too many thank you cards, right? I love them!
The front of my free cards.
The back

#6. I love that wedding planning is coming along smoothly. In the last week, I've met with a florist, booked a videographer, and found someone to do my cake and Aaron's. I feel such a huge relief getting some of those big things marked off my to-do list. Now I'm working on making decorations and such.

#7. I love that I get to see this girl on Thursday. She will be visiting from Nashville!! Can't wait to hang out and catch up..it's been way too long!

#8. I love that in two weeks Aaron will be here for our engagement pictures!!!!! I think I'm more excited about taking engagement pictures than anything else. Praying that the weather remains beautiful and that the leaves are bright and colorful. It's been almost a month since the last time I saw Aaron and I'm counting down the days!!

Have a Happy Monday!!
