I'm So Excited!!

This weekend was great!
-Spent Friday night just relaxing/having girl time with some great girlfriends.
-Aaron came into town Saturday night. We relaxed and watched the Olympics.
-Sunday Aaron and I spent the day on Lake Arcadia with my cousin and her family. It was a lot of fun. We skied, tubed, and swam. It was the perfect lake weather! Thanks for having us, Steph & Colby.
-Sunday afternoon Aaron and I went through all my furniture in the garage and made a list of everything Aaron will be taking with him when he moves. We also measured each big piece of furniture so he knows what kind of space he will be needing.
-Sunday evening my brother and his wife came over and we had a lovely family dinner.

All in all, it was a great, relaxing weekend. I was in desperate need of one after all the mass chaos at work. The free kids haircuts during the month of August is wearing me slick. I am exhausted every day and my feet kill me. I have enjoyed hanging out with the kids though. I wish I would have brought a book to write down every funny thing those kids say. Some of them are HILARIOUS! Keeps us entertained and on our toes.

Tomorrow night after work I will be heading to Aaron's house. We are leaving early Wednesday morning to go house hunting in Arkansas!!! Excited is an understatement. I can't wait to see the town and find a place for Aaron to live. He plans to find a place this week and move next Wed & Thurs. AHHHHHHHH!!! It's finally happening. So happy and sad at the same time! Praying/keeping our fingers crossed for cool weather next week.

I'm sure I will take plenty of pictures while in Arkansas and I'll post an update with pictures of the house we hopefully find. EEKKK!!!

It's Been a While...

.....since my last blog post. About three weeks to be exact. Sorry for the absence, but I haven't had a lot of super cool things to blog about lately so I took a short break. I still don't have a whole lot to share, but here's a little post to fill you in on what I've been up to.

1. Still waiting patiently for Aaron's federal background check to come back. Once it is completed we will make a trip to AR to find a rent house for him. I'm so anxious to go see the town and look at houses. I'm trying really hard to practice patience.....after all I keep reminding myself that the sooner it clears, the sooner he moves 7 hours away. Instead, I'll enjoy every last moment I get to spend with him here in OK.

2. I started the Advocare 24 Day Challenge about a week ago. I'm on day 9 and sticking to it almost exactly. Not sure if I've lost any weight or inches, but I feel so much better. My energy level is higher and I've been working out 4-5 times a week. I'll post results after the 24 days and maybe if I'm brave, I'll post a before and after picture (not likely though). This challenge has taken up a lot of my time because I have to grocery shop, plan and cook weekly meals, and find time to squeeze in 6 meals a day (that's a hard task for a hairstylist because we rarely ever have time during work to sit down and eat slowly).

3. Business has picked up again in the onesie making department. There for a while the orders slowed down and it was nice to have some free time on my days off. I'm glad they've picked back up. There must be something in the water because I know SO many people right now who are expecting and I'm so excited to make sweet little outfits for their little ones.
I made this onesie for my sweet friend and college roommate, Caitlin. She is a Delta Gamma girl so I thought it was fitting to send her an "anchor" care package for her and baby C. Can't wait to meet the nugget!

Aaron's good friend and his wife just had their little girl last week. We are so excited for them and she is absolutely precious. This was one of the onesies I made for their little girl, Aly. Congrats Clancey and Traci, can't wait to meet her!

4. I'm still garage selling like a mad woman every Thursday morning. I'm so addicted and hooked. I have got to STOP. Here are some of my latest finds:
 wrought iron vanity- $35
I found this at a marketplace in OKC called Funky Trunk. If you haven't been there before, check it out. They have tons of cute booths!
Toy box full of toys- $10
I will be painting this and using it for a certain something/someone. Look for a post about it in the future :)

This was my favorite purchase. I'm in love with this end table and it will remain exactly AS IS. I got the table, floor lamp, and storage bins all for $26.
I'll be painting or recovering the lamp shade.
These bins will be used for organization purposes in a closet/craft area.
This box was $3. The painting is rather odd, but I loved the shape of it and I saw potential in it. Not sure yet what I'll do with it, but it hangs on the wall and I'm sure I'll put it to good use.
The inside of the box.

That's all I've got for now, friends. Hope you guys have a great week. Hopefully it won't be another month before I post again!

Got Roots?

I just got home from the first annual family reunion with my dad's side of the family and it was a success! We weren't able to get together this year for Christmas so we decided to do Christmas in July at Roman Nose State Park in Watonga, OK. You would think, "What is there to do in Watonga, OK?" but trust me, we didn't run out of fun activities. I am exhausted from a fun filled weekend.

-We went horseback riding through the canyons. It was Aaron's first time to ride a horse....who would've thought, right? He looked like a natural and he said he LOVED it.

- We swam in the pool

- We had a cookout......complete with a Christmas tree, dirty Santa gifts, hot dogs, s'mores, a talent show, a park, and springs.

-We had a scrambles golf tournament and I'm proud to say the team I was on won.....we finished 8 under. Note to self: I should golf more often with four competitive boys because the pressure was on and I was determined not to be the reason they lost. It was by far the best game of golf I've ever played and I'm super proud to say I got an EAGLE on one hole. It was by far the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me, but it felt pretty darn awesome. My teammates were so patient with me and they "coached" me up well. Nice work team!
 Team #1
 The Winning Team
 The Senior Citizen Team
We had to get proof of my Eagle because I knew they wouldn't believe it.

-We competed in a miniature golf tournament and paddle boat races.

Kinley got a hole in one!
Colby was the winner out of our family and had to play in an intense two round tie breaker with a guy from another family.
The paddle boat winners from our family....Team Sea Rascals
Zach was not happy about being a part of the green boat team.....we were wimpy girls and couldn't keep up with the rest, haha.

For the record, don't ever compete in paddle boat races....it is the best leg workout of your life and you will be in excruciating pain the entire time. I'm sure it was quite comical to watch.

-We surprised our Me-Ma with family reunion t-shirts that had a family tree legacy on the back. She loved the shirts and got a little teary eyed when she first saw them. The Great-Grandkids read the legacy to her...so sweet.

The whole family
 Team Gary
 Team Bruce
Team Rex

I'm so blessed with such a wonderful family and I'm thankful for all the fun memories we made this weekend. A special thanks to my mom and Aunt Debra for all their hard work organizing and planning the reunion. I'm so glad we were all able to get together and I'm already looking forward to next year!

*If you made it to the end of this post, thanks for following along and reading...I know it was a long, picture heavy post!
