Dear Aaron,

HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY AND HAPPY 6 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

I went to visit Aaron this week to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary. I left my house at 5:30am Wednesday morning and I arrived at his house around 12:30pm. He was at work so he left a key under the mat so I could go in and unpack a few boxes of dishes and put up some fall decorations. When I walked in the door I found this....

Not sure if you can read it, but the card said, "Welcome home Quincee." I'm not going to lie, I got a little teary eyed when I read it....so sweet.

I unloaded my boxes, did a load of laundry, washed the dishes, lit a few candles to make the house smell pretty, put up a few fall decorations, and did some cleaning while I waited for Aaron to get off work. It was so much fun. I felt like a housewife. However, I failed as a housewife because I didn't have a home cooked meal on the table when he got off work....DARN. I need to work on that.

Once he got home we opened gifts, went out for dinner and ice cream, drove and walked around nearby towns exploring the area, and soaked up every minute we got to spend together. It was a short and sweet trip, but totally worth it. By the way, Aaron's gift to me included some Arkansas Razorback gear. He's trying to convert me. He probably won't have to try very hard.

While we were driving around, we spotted our dream home for sale and we drove by it at least 3 times. I am in love with this sweet little cottage and their back yard is the lake. It would be fabulous, but I looked it up online afterwards and the price tag is extremely out of the question....TOO BAD.
Isn't it darling?
Check out the back patio. I'll take that please.
And here is their back yard view. Yes please.

Instead, we will make this rental house our humble abode. A lot of people I've talked to recently have been interested in seeing Aaron's house, so here it is. Obviously, he hasn't lived there long so it is still a work in progress, but it's getting there. I'm trying to stay away from doing too much girly/decorative stuff with it so he can enjoy his bachelor pad for the next 9 months. He did say that once I move there, I can do whatever I want with the decorating. I think I'd like that in writing. :)
Aaron said he has already thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the front porch in the mornings and evenings and drinking his coffee and taking in the scenery. He is an old soul, just like me.
The dining room. I love the ceiling beams and the checkered tile.
The kitchen. Lots of cabinet space.
The laundry room
The laundry room has its own toilet....right by the back door, just in case you have to take a break while folding clothes or mowing the lawn.
The living room. Aaron always said he would NEVER have a red front door and look at him now.
The bathroom

This will eventually be the guest bedroom. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Aaron's room

Aaron's closet. This will be the source of all our arguements. Not sure how I'm going to fit my wardrobe. #hoarderproblems
The beginning of Aaron's "mancave" and "office"

So there you have it....hope you enjoyed the house tour, haha. I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it as I post before and afters of rooms and projects completed.

Happy Happy Happy Birthday and Anniversary, Aaron! I love you so much and I am so glad I got to celebrate with you this past week. Hope you have a wonderful day. Can't wait to celebrate again this weekend!

Enjoying the beautiful sunset and scenery at the scenic overlook. Such a beautiful place!

What I'm Loving.....

September is going to be an exciting month with a lot of things to look forward to. Here are just a few of those things.

#1. I'm leaving Wednesday to go visit Aaron in Arkansas. It will be my first trip there alone and I'm praying the 7 hr drive there and back will fly by. I can't wait to see him. I will be taking a load of boxes full of kitchen supplies for him to use. I figure, I might as well start taking stuff there little by little so when June rolls around, I won't have to worry about it. I'm taking a bunch of Fall and Christmas decorations and I plan on putting out the fall stuff while he's at work....I'm sure he'll appreciate that, right? Pictures to come.
While I'm there, we will be celebrating Aaron's 25th birthday and our 6 year anniversary...they both happen to fall on the same day.

#2. Next Wednesday I'm going wedding dress shopping!!!!! EEEEKK...I'm so excited, I can't wait. Aaron's mom, my mom, and a few others are coming along. Hopefully we will find exactly what I'm looking for. Hurry up next Wed!!!

#3. The last weekend in Sept, I'll be traveling back to Arkansas to celebrate one of my sweet, sweet college friends. She is expecting a baby boy soon and I can't wait to celebrate at her shower. I haven't seen her little belly yet and I'm so excited to catch up with her and our other friend, Laura. YAY!!

Me, Caitlin (momma-to-be), and Laura and her precious son, Sawyer
This was the last time we were all together, almost two years ago.

I am also super duper excited for this crazy girl to be coming to visit next week!!!! It's been way to long since I've seen her and I'm having withdrawals.

#4. This beautiful weather is putting me in the best moods ever. It's also putting me in the mood to light candles, clean house, and craft....all of which make me a very happy person. I can't wait for Halloween, fall clothes, holiday baking, etc.

The latest wedding craft I've completed.

Updates and pictures to come on all the fun things listed above. It's going to be a busy Sept and Oct, lots of birthday parties, holiday parties, baby showers, engagement pictures, projects, etc. Hopefully I can keep up with the blogging. So excited for what is to come! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Wedding Inventory!

I had a very productive day off today. One thing I marked off my checklist was wedding inventory. I basically had boxes upon boxes of glassware, vases, and candle holders that I had bought at garage sales in the past and they were all still sitting in my parent's garage. I decided today would be the perfect day to organize them, count how many I had, take pictures of them and put them in the decorations tab of our wedding planning folder so I know what I'm working with when we get to looking for a florist. I felt so much better after going through it all and organizing it, but I realized that I have SOOOOOOOO many of them. I'm pretty sure I could start my own event/wedding rental company. Maybe that's what I'll do when I move to Arkansas ;)

Just in case you're interested, here's what I found:
 24 of these canning jars
 11 tall tea light candlesticks
 10 of these votives
 36 mini spice vases
 9 large seltzer water vases
 10 small seltzer water vases
10 various sized milk glass vases
 10 of these votives
 40 tea light votives
3 double vases
 8 rounded spice vases
 8 triangular spice vases
 4 big square vases
 6 medium vases
 6 large vases
And here is my brother's old bedroom that has now been converted into the "WEDDING ROOM". We've already made some significant progress in this room if you can't see for yourself. I'm not allowing myself to buy any more wedding decorations. The good news is, all the glassware pictured above was bought at garage sales for next to nothing and it will definitely be put to good use. All this to say, if you're ever in need of vases and candle holders for an event, just let me know :)
