28 weeks
Hello Third Trimester, we are so happy to see you!!
I just realized I have not written a blog post since we announced we were pregnant in August.....and this will also be my 4th blog post of the year. WOW, I'm slacking. I thought I would post weekly bump dates and document every little detail of my pregnancy on this blog, but clearly life got in the way. So here it is, in one BIG blog post, mainly so I can get these very special pictures off of my phone and onto here so if my phone crashes I don't loose them all and I have these memories.
Aaron and I had very different views on a gender reveal party. He didn't think it was necessary and I did, of course. So I did what any good wife would do and I went behind his back and planned a surprise 30th birthday party/gender reveal party. He just thought he was coming home from a fishing tournament to my parents and his parents and a nice dinner to announce what we were having. Little did he know, there would be a house full of people to celebrate him. It was so much fun and he was totally surprised and ended up being really glad I did it.
Here's TEAM BOY!!!
Here's TEAM GIRL!
Hugs from my dad who made me cry because he was tearing up.
Getting the target board and balloon ready.
IT'S A BOY!
My mom and dad can't wait for grandbaby #3!
Rhett is going to have some of the best aunties! Auntie Paige!
Auntie Alli!
And Rhett's Grandma and Grandpa also can't wait to meet their grandbaby #2!!
And he can't wait to play with little Hallie girl!!
Best friends since elementary school!
And he really can't wait to meet his aunt and uncle and his sweet cousins Guinevere and Asher who will be just a few weeks older than him.
Auntie Paige, Auntie Emily, and Auntie Kortney!
He also already has some really great hunting buddies!
Everett Thomas, we can't wait to meet you!
This past weekend we had our first baby shower and it was perfect. All of my favorite people in one room. We laughed, I cried (a lot) opening the sweetest gift from my Aunt Jan, we played games, and it was so good to see everyone. Thank you all for coming and making my shower so great.
Rachel opened up her beautiful new home to host! Thank you so much, Rachel!
Childhood friends with our mommas!
These were the AMAZING hostesses. They did not leave one detail out. I am so thankful for all of these wonderful women in my life. They are so special to me.
How cute are the little blue, white and gold pumpkins.
One of the hostesses made the cake. Her Italian Crème Cake is my favorite cake ever. One of the hostesses' aunts made the gorgeous floral arrangement. She is so talented and did our wedding flowers and her arrangements never disappoint!
They had the cutest MOMosa bar complete with a non-alcoholic momosa for me and the other expectant mothers!
My chef friend, Steph did the food and just like always, it was amazing! She made some delicious pumpkin dip, roast beef sandwiches, and some other fancy foods that I'm not sure what they're called, but it was all so good! They sent me home with the extras and I ate them on the way home and Aaron was so happy to finish it off for me when I got home.
Love these people BIG time!
The best little helper, Kinsley!
Love these girls. Three of us met in middle school and the other in high school, but we all played volleyball together and had WAY TOO much fun in high school. Thankful for their friendship for all these years and many more to come!
Sabrina and her momma! We have been friends since we met at church when we were probably four! Oh the memories and the stories we could tell. Love you friend!
My sister-in-law and both our boys. Can't wait to watch these cousins grow up together. Ashley will be so sick of me calling her and asking for advice/help.
This amazing woman was one of my dad's student athletes who then became my baby sitter who now is a very very special friend. I could go on and on about how much she means to me. Love her to pieces!
Stephanie and baby Wyatt, due exactly one week before me. Can't wait for play dates with these boys. I have blown up Stephanie's phone throughout my pregnancy, asking her questions about anything and everything. It's been so fun and I can't wait to celebrate them at her shower very soon!
I met this babe in cosmetology school when we were Juniors in high school. We also had WAY TOO much fun together and I don't get to see her near as often as I'd like, but I was so happy to see you and your family at the shower. Love you KP!!
My Aunt Jan!! She has been there for me through everything and Rhett is so lucky to have her as a Great Aunt (not sure if that's what she will be to him, but it sounds good to me).
My momma! She is already the best Lolli and I can't wait to watch her with Rhett. She has taught me so much already about what it is to be the world's greatest mom!
We have been working hard getting the nursery ready. We pretty much have it all done, minus getting the bedding put on and getting everything washed and organized. There are a few pieces for the nursery we still have to get and a few more décor items to hang, but for the most part, we are done with it.
Here are some before and afters of the furniture pieces we redid. I needed a space to store all my craft stuff that was in the nursery and this wardrobe was the perfect solution!
We made a little sign for above the crib.
Here is the sneak peek of half of the room. I love how it turned out! Can't wait to get the bedding all put together!
Baby Rhett has no choice but to be a lover of the great outdoors. I mean look at all the hunting/fishing stuff he already has. He probably has more than his daddy already and he's not even here. It was so fun to come home from the shower and show Aaron these awesome gifts. I think Aaron was more excited than I've ever seen him on Christmas morning.
He cannot wait to read these books to his son and take him on his first hunting/fishing trips.
How cute are these crib sheets? I LOVE THEM!
We even have the bibs covered! Our sweet friend, Brandi made the ones on the outside.
He already has more Carhart than Aaron.
So cute!
These are the only bump pictures I've taken thus far.
I have really loved being pregnant and I can't complain because I've had it pretty easy. I was nauseous everyday until about week 13. I only got sick a handful of times and luckily it was in the evenings and not during work. I slept the majority of my first trimester and got nothing done, but now I'm in nesting mode and tackling my to-do lists. I'm excited to get all of my extracurricular projects done so I can focus on finishing the baby room, cleaning and prepping the house, spending quality time with Aaron and relaxing and SLEEPING before Rhett gets here!!
