What I'm Loving Wednesday!
#1. Today is my beautiful mamma's birthday! We are celebrating tonight with dinner and possibly a movie, or ice skating. I kind of hope it's ice skating because I love to ice skate and Aaron has never been before so that would be quite comical!

Me, my brother, and mom
#2. I absolutely LOVE Rodney Carrington! Anyone ever been to one of his shows? If you're not familiar with him, he's a comedian from Oklahoma and he's hysterical. He's also been in the movie, Beer for my Horses. Two years ago, Trevor, Ashley, Aaron, and I went to his show and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. We were all in tears from laughing so hard. Yes, he's vulgar and talks about inappropriate stuff, but it's hilarious! Since we talked so highly of his show, my parents decided they wanted to go this year. I'm interested to see if they think it's as funny as we do. I'm definitely not sitting next to them because that might be awkward :/
It helps that he's a good lookin man for his age!
#3. As a Christmas gift from my mom, I got an online photography workshop from the talented, Southern California photographer, Megan Papworth. Check out her website here. The workshop includes 6 lesson plans that cover everything you need to know to execute a professional photo shoot. They were offering this deal through Very Jane and it was half off the original price! I can't wait to get started and see what I learn!

#4. Today begins the first day of my half marathon training. I've been so lazy lately and it's time I get back in shape. I will be running in the OKC Memorial Half Marathon on April 29th, 2012. My official 12 week training will begin on Feb. 5th. Starting today, I will be running 3 miles, 3 times a week. I'm using Hal Higdon's training program (the same program I used for the marathon). You can view it here. If anyone would like to join me, please do....I'd love some company this year!
5. I love that Christmas is on Sunday! I just have Christmas day off so I don't have any big traveling plans. Looking forward to relaxing and spending a day with my family at home. We will be going to see family that live here in OK throughout the day. I also love looking at all the Christmas cards. It's one of my favorite things about Christmas time. I wanted to share our Christmas letter we sent out this year. My family has a tradition of sending out letters instead of cards. In the past we've each written a note about the year we had and what Christmas meant to us. Then, my mom compiled them into a scrapbook type letter with pictures. This year my mom didn't really have time to put anything together so I told her I'd be in charge of making a letter. I really enjoyed making it! It's been fun to look back on all the letters from years past and see what was going on in our lives.

I Love Christmas Parties!
This weekend was filled with Christmas parties and fun! Saturday night, we had our 2nd annual gift exchange with my three best friends from elementary school. We went to dinner, exchanged gifts, and had a slumber party. As always, it was a great time and we stayed up late hanging out and talking.
Beth, Rachel, Alli, and Me
Crazy pic!
Here are a few pics of each of us with our gifts.
I loved all of my gifts. They know me so well. I got a cute dress, a gift certificate to get my nails done, headbands, a bottle of wine, and a 2012 calendar/planner! Thanks girls!
Beth got two books, a purse, "We know we belong to the land" Oklahoma t-shirt, funny napkins, and a bookmark.
Rachel got an OU hoodie, scarf, candle, bottle of wine, calendar/planner, and bangles.
Alli got a bottle of wine, scarf, calendar/planner, "Mrs. Schoonover" hanger, and picture frame.
Here are a few pics of each of us with our gifts.
As you can see, we all must have been pretty good this year! Pinterest was a huge help while Christmas shopping this year. Two of the three girls have a Pinterest and they had a board with things they wanted.....it was a LIFE SAVER! Thanks to Pinterest, I was able to find and order the OK t-shirt and book for Beth. I also ordered the "Mrs. Schoonover" hanger for the soon-to-be bride, Alli. She had that and the "house divided" picture frame pinned on her Pinterest. If you're on the look out for a bridal gift, I highly recommend you order from TwoBroadsDesign on etsy. They were very easy to work, reasonably priced, and very quick.
A better pic of the hanger
Friday night we had our annual corny Christmas sweater party! I found a sweet, velvet two piece jumpsuit at the thrift store, complete with a wreath turtleneck from Wal-Mart. Aaron didn't have a sweater so we dug through my dad's closet and borrowed one of his.
Alli wore her mom's maternity Christmas dress and I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty cute!
Part of the gift I brought included stick-on beards and mustaches. I bought them for the sole purpose of taking awesome pictures!
Makes me laugh every time.
I love my friends! The two boys in the back are having a little moment...they love each other!

Thanks Brandi and Lance for hosting the party, I had a blast!

Can't Wait to See These!
I went to the movies last weekend to see New Year's Eve and I was really impressed with the number of good previews for the upcoming months. Here are a few trailers for movies that I will definitely be seeing when they come out in theaters.
P.S.- I liked New Year's Eve A LOT better than I like Valentine's Day. You should see it!
The Vow! I really don't think I can wait until Feb. to see this movie. Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum are two of my top favs! Mainly because they are so easy on the eyes.
I'm obsessed Nicholas Sparks' books so I always make it a point to go see his movies after reading the books. However, I have been disappointed in quite a few of the movies they've made. I'm excited about seeing this movie. I haven't read the book yet, but I believe we are going to be reading it for our book club!
This just looks like an all around good movie with a very different story. I love Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson so I'm sure I'll love this movie too! Isn't that little girl precious?
If you can't tell, I'm a sucker for chick flicks...go figure!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!
I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!
This week I'm loving all things involving Christmas!
1. I love that this weekend is our Annual Corny Christmas Sweater Party! It is my favorite party of the year. I love finding the perfect sweater/outfit and dressing up. I also love to see everyone else's attire. The party is complete with great friends, food, games, and Dirty Santa. Sometimes there are really cool gifts and other times you're mad because you got stuck with a not so cool gift. There are usually quite a few funny, gag gifts that people bring. Last year I got stuck with the Shake Weight! I'm excited about the gift I'm bringing because it will help spice up some of the pictures. I'll share those pics with you after the party!
Here's a picture from our party back in 2006.
And our party back in 2008, I believe.#2. I love that this weekend is also our 2nd annual girl's night Christmas exchange. Last year my best friends from elementary school got together for dinner, movies, and a gift exchange. We had such a great time that we decided we are going to make it a tradition every year. Can't wait for it!!
#3. I love my festive finger nails!
I discovered this picture via Pinterest and it linked me to an amazing blog all about nails. This girl is seriously good at doing her nails and she gives all kinds of tips, tricks, and tutorials. You should really check her out! Here is a picture of her nails.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!
We're getting in the Christmas spirit at my parent's house and at Aaron's house. Just wanted to share with you our Christmas trees and decor! Last night Aaron came over and we had a taco dinner with the family, put up the Christmas decorations, and watched "The Help"....complete with ice cream and popcorn. It was a relaxing, fun night!
The Christmas tree at my house. It is a very sentimental tree....all the ornaments are either hand made by someone in my family or given to us as a gift. All of the ornaments have our initials on them and the year we made them. It makes it really fun to put them up every year and look how old they are......and there are a TON of them!
This is by far my favorite ornament on the tree. It is always purposely placed front and center. This ornament always gets quite a few laughs. It was made by my Sunday School teacher when I was in the 2 year old class. I was really fat and resembled Chris Farley ;)
This was my "first Christmas" ornament. If you look closely, you can see my name and birth year are engraved in it.
The mantle with all our stockings and Christmas cards. Every year my mom hangs a string across the mantle and displays the Christmas cards with close pins. I always love getting Christmas cards and displaying them so we can see.
I took my little tree that I used in college over to Aaron's house so he could enjoy some Christmas spirit. We had a good time decorating our first tree together. It was easy and didn't take long at all...that's my kind of Christmas tree.
Aaron getting all the limbs attached and separated
Putting on the lights
I love trees that have a color scheme and have matching ornaments. Some day I want an all white, gold, and pearl tree to put in my front window!
This makes me happy :)
In the bag of ornaments, I found this little Lions pom girl. This was given to me as a gift by my pom sister, Amy. Even though it doesn't match the other ornaments, Aaron and I both had one so we decided to put them on the tree anyway. I love this ornament because it will always remind me of the UAFS pom squad days :)
Aaron's personal ornament was this antler ornament. My mom bought it for him last year and it is very fitting.
Hope you guys have a great week!!
